West Oxfordshire Business Awards
A marque of distinction
Rebrand and multi-channel campaign sees perceptions change, awards entries up by 45% and sponsorship up by 50%.
The challenge
Established in 2011, the West Oxfordshire Business Awards (WOBAs) fly the flag for businesses and entrepreneurship.
After several years attracting a small but highly engaged business audience, the WOBAs were struggling to grow. A change in brand strategy and new identity was needed to raise the game to a whole new level – one that would catalyse interaction and stimulate entries.
The results
Will Barton West Oxfordshire District CouncilWe have a stunning new brand and it has created the professional image we wanted the WOBAs to portray. I know that other awards groups are looking at the WOBAs with envy!
The solution
The Awards are much more than an excuse for a party. Through connecting businesses, they are fundamentally about driving economic growth and prosperity.
The theme of excellence, achievement and reward inspired a simple, bold ribbon shape in a vibrant red, which has immediate impact. The ribbon also subtly references ‘w’, for WOBA, with its shape.
The marque is simple and versatile, yet unmistakeable. Taking the marque’s versatility to its ultimate conclusion, we created physical awards in the form of the WOBA ribbon as instantly recognisable symbols of the event and the prestige of winning.
