If you’ve been to mm* HQ recently you’ll know that we’re having a bit of a rejig, and that’s partly to make room for some new team members. So without further ado, allow us to introduce Emily, Andy and Jade.

Emily – Designer

What do you do?
Ideas, ideas, ideas! My average day as part of the creative team goes something like this: read, read again, think, draw, rethink, reread, redraw… well, you get the gist. I make sure every project has a solid idea with a justified execution. Working from concepts through to finalisation, I’m all about designing and presenting a solution that is both engaging and effective. Despite what some may think, designing is much more than just a bit of colouring in!

When might our paths cross?
You’ll usually find me in the studio working away, doodling on a sketchpad or on my Mac amongst fellow talented mark-makers* or meet me in person, presenting my ideas (which I really enjoy!)

What’s your favourite bit about working here?
The people and culture! With a background in food and drink packaging design, I’m learning a lot about a different area of the design industry in a studio environment that is fun, creative, positive and productive.

And when you’re not mark-making*?
I thoroughly enjoy running and am slowly building up the different events with the aim of completing my second half-marathon, sometime this year. If I’m not kidding myself that I’m the next Paula Radcliffe, I’m usually catching up with friends and family or trying out a new craft. I love listening to music and as I’m quite a foodie, I enjoy getting creative in the kitchen!

Andy Birnie – Designer

What do you do?
I try to solve problems using creative solutions.

When might our paths cross?
I work collaboratively with the rest of the studio and the accounts team, so you could meet me at any point from our initial ideas presentation through to the final artwork stages.

What’s your favourite bit about working here?
I’ve only just started so it’s difficult to say, but we did have cake on my first day!

And when you’re not mark-making*?
My love of film probably puts me firmly in the nerd category but I do try to counteract that playing hockey, supporting the Pittsburgh Penguins and watching Hey Duggee with my little boy.

Jade Smith – Account Manager

What do you do?
Understand our clients’ business and work with them, and our creative team to deliver ideas that exceed expectations and achieve outstanding results.

When might our paths cross?
I will be there from start to finish, as the day-to-day contact on my clients’ projects.

What’s your favourite bit about working here?
Working on such a wide variety of projects, having the opportunity to meet and work with lots of people, and the mm* HQ’s location in a beautiful Cotswolds market town.

And when you’re not mark-making*?
I’m usually trying to master the art of modern calligraphy, upholstering some old furniture or planning my next staycation.
